What we need is a committed leader who can articulate his thought and carry the people along. The National and State Assemblies would have consulted with their constituencies and agree on what their benefit and position will be post-restructuring and vote along that line. The beauty of the Presidential System is the democratic inclusion of all people in any major decision through their elected representatives, though this has been summarily handicapped in our clime.
The truth is the current monolithic structure, which perhaps served a temporary cohesive purpose in the past, degenerated over the years and we should review. The cry for equitable and fair distribution of resources is an ongoing concern and no permanent structure can address it.
Fortunately, we have another glimmer of hope in the upcoming general elections.
